New York City Travel Diary.

This blog is going to be a long one so grab your snacks and put your phone on Do Not Disturb, because we are about to relive my whole trip to New York. I honestly can’t put into words how perfect the whole trip was. I’ve been in love with New York for as long as I can remember and now that I have been there, I know it is exactly where I’m supposed to spend my life.

Ok, so obviously you are all here to see tons of pictures and hear about everything I did so we will just jump right in. I guess the easiest way to do this is go in order by day.

Thursday, July 12th:

So, this was my first ever plane ride… crazy huh? Michaela and I were FREAKING out hahaha!! But it was honestly phenomenal. Our flight left at 7:30am so we ended up not sleeping the whole night because we left for New Orleans around 3am. We landed in New York around 10:30 that morning with a whole day to explore. We took an Uber to our hotel… which was insanely awkward because the driver didn’t speak to us!!! Once we settle into the Edison (in Times Square…. so awesome) we went exploring, had our first meal from a food truck, shopped at Saks Fifth Avenue, and explored every single bit of central park. It was remarkable. Let me show you. You can click the image to make it bigger!! ❤

So, one of the best things about exploring the city was going down 5th Ave and seeing all of the designer stores…… It was a DREAM!!!!! You guys know I love to shop. I couldn’t contain myself. Versace, Rolex, Valentino, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton….

Friday, July 13th:

Friday was a mega busy day for us. We woke up and took a Gossip Girl locations tour around the city… because duh. We got to see pretty much all of the filming locations, it was so freaking cool (The MET, Empire Hotel, New York Palace, Grand Central Station…). After we went to Infinity Tattoo and got our NYC tattoos!!!! Then to end the day we biked the Brooklyn Bridge… which was so intense. We also got lost trying to find the bike entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge. This was the first day we took a subway also which we completely rocked!!!! We got a metro card for the whole week and it was so much better then having to drive everywhere. There was also a Starbucks right across from out hotel which helped the fact we woke up at 7am every single day to get the most done possible.

Saturday, July 14th:

I keep saying all our days were started early and pretty packed, but honestly they all were like that so it’s appropriate. Saturday we saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and ended our day going to Luna Park, Coney Island & the Boardwalk. This was probably my all time favorite day apart from biking the Brooklyn Bridge.. and every other day to be honest. Everything was so pure and dream like. Seeing all of these things with my own eyes still doesn’t feel real. We watched fireworks on the beach. Climbed to the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. Rode rollercoasters at Luna Park. Took an hour and a half long subway ride to and from Coney Island. It was just perfect. I’ve never been so happy in my life.

Sunday, July 15th:

So, the plan on Sunday was to go shopping, see the Empire State building, and visit the Top of the Rock Observatory… what ended up happening was we spent way too much time and money shopping (it was so worth it, because we lived our best life… we shopped in Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Kate Spade, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Laduree..) and we went to the Top of the Rock Observatory. We got lost trying to get to the Empire State building and once we finally got there they told us our tickets weren’t valid… and that we had to leave… BUT I did get a photo inside of the Empire State building so we at least went inside haha! I also got to see the Macy’s store, which if you didn’t know was used as Gimbels in the movie Elf (my all time favorite movie in the whole world).

Monday, July 16th:

This was our last day in New York so obviously we were mega bummed out. We spent the morning packing then we had our last food truck meal. We had coffee in Times Square, just honestly taking in every last bit of the city before we left. We got to the airport way too early, then our flight got delayed. My suitcase was 5 pounds over the weight limit from shopping so much. The whole day was wild. We landed at 10:30 that night and suddenly vacation was over and we had to get back to real life.

I’ve never felt like I belong somewhere quite like I felt in New York. I’ve always had this feeling deep in my heart that I was always meant to be there and once I stepped foot off the plane, I knew it was true. I got chills seeing The MET. I cried the whole plane ride home. I could walk the city for the rest of my life without a care in the world. It was perfect. I lived my dream. I can honestly say I don’t want anything more than I want New York. I ended up vlogging the whole trip & I’m definitely glad I did. If you’d like to really experience the city through our eyes, click here it’ll open a new window to the video of our trip. I can’t stress enough how much I believe in following your dreams. Don’t let anything hold you back from doing what you want to do in life. I wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t for my passion and love for New York City.

The whole trip reassured my life motto of an epic existence. It’s what this blog is meant for. It’s what my tattoo stands for. It’s what I dream for. New York gave me that. I found a part of me that I didn’t know was missing and I’m so thankful I did.

I was feeling epic.

xoxo. ❤
